Self-Portraits of the Photographer – Conversations with Myself

We invite you to an online exhibition of retrospective self-portraits by Belgian photographer Peter Vandewalle. The collection, titled Conversations with Myself (2021), is primarily a search for the answer to how to be alone with oneself.

Peter Vandewalle, who specializes in portrait and especially black-and-white photography, uses photography as a medium to capture moments of internal dialogue. Here, photography becomes an artifact of the journey of being in one's own presence — in the company of oneself.
